New Offices in Horncastle

18 May 2017

Robert Bell and Company are excited to announce we are making excellent progress with our new offices for our Residential and Commercial Lettings Department and Auctions

We have recently purchased a building in Lindsey Court to the rear of the Old Bank Chambers, Horncastle.  Underfloor heating is to be fitted on the ground floor, the first floor is being newly plastered and a staircase fitted.  The new boiler and central heating are being connected to the gas supply followed by redecoration and then we will add the finishing touches!  We are all looking forward to the completion of this work and the big move during the summer months.  We will be hosting a 'Grand Opening' and hope you will come and pay us a visit.  Interesting facts about Horncastle, it can be traced back to before the Roman Invasion.  Horncastle has been recognised as a Roman walled site at least since 1722, but discoveries made over the last two decades have radically changed our view of the site. Roman Horncastle, formally referred to as a `lesser walled town`, is now seen to consist of two main elements: a walled enclosure of about 5 acres at the junction of the rivers Bain & Waring, and an unwalled settlement covering up to 135 acres on a slightly higher gravel terrace south of the Waring and east of the Bain.  Due to it's age, Horncastle has many interests to historians, ramblers and people in general. There are buildings to see, walks to go on, literature to read and beautiful views to look at. It has been mentioned by many people that Lincolnshire is "flat & boring", on the contrary, Horncastle borders the Fens and the Wolds. They each have their own beauty which has to be seen to be appreciated.  We are proud to have our head office located in this beautiful, historic town.
